ABOUT BOL ON ISLAND BRAČ

Bol is situated on the eastern side of Brač island. It is located underneath the highest peak of the Adriatic– Vidova Gora and is one of the oldest coastal settlements on the island. The place itself is located a few kilometers along the seafront. Bol, in all its length, stretches along beautiful crystal clear sea.

On the eastern side of the place there is a Dominican monastery whose rich archeological and artistic collection represents the cultural identity of Bol.

The urban centre with a harbor featuring original houses and boats stretches along the central part of the place whose very centre is marked by a Baroque summer house, Renaissance – Baroque palace with art gallery, a lodge with a chapel, Baroque church and the main square. The gallery ‘’Branko Dešković“, which is placed in the Renaissance – Baroque palace is also very famous and contains significant exhibits of the Croatian contemporary art.

Hotels and apartment facilities stretch to the west and a brisk walk down a stone-paved path which runs through them and along pine and tamaris trees takes you straight the beach Zlatni rat, the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic and a trademark of Croatian tourism. Zlatni rat, a natural attraction of regularly shaped pebbles and natural pine forest which provides deep shade stretches 634 meters along the crystal clear sea. The position of the beach facing the Hvar canal always provides a wind-free side for bathers and windy side for surfers. The peak itself changes shape depending on the alternation of the wind direction and sea currents, and thus every day at Zlatni rat is a brand new and unrepeatable experience, which makes it exquisite.

American magazine "Islands", which is published in million copies and is read all over the world has included the Croatian island Brač among ten most desirable islands for living in the world.

Furthermore, according to the evaluation made by the British daily newspaper "Daily Telegraph" the beach Zlatni rat at Bol on the island of Brač has been proclaimed as the most beautiful in Europe.

At the same time, the world publisher of tourist guides "Lonely Planet" has included Zlatni rat among its top ten most beautiful beaches in the world.
